Nagri Niwara Parishad

Name: Nagri Niwara Parishad

Location: Mumbai, India

NNP (Nagari Nivara Parishad) is a socially responsive urban project, aimed at addressing livelihood and child safety within a single integrated facility. The project provides a structured, hygienic market infrastructure for street fish vendors, formalizing informal vending conditions and improving working standards. In parallel, the building includes safe shelter spaces for homeless children, protecting them from street-related risks and providing a secure environment. This dual-purpose model links economic support with social welfare. The proposal was presented to the local governing body, and following approval, the NNP market building is currently in its completion phase, reflecting a significant step toward inclusive urban infrastructure. NNP (Nagari Nivara Parishad) also includes a residential high-rise development on the adjacent plot, complementing the market and shelter programme. Together, the projects form an integrated urban precinct that combines housing, livelihood infrastructure, and social welfare, reinforcing a holistic and inclusive approach to redevelopment in Goregaon East.
